Come Out and Support the Milton Eagles
Come out and support your Milton Eagles for their regional tournament games. Both the Girls and Boys teams will host play in games next week on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. These games are for the opportunity to return to the State Tournament or clean out our lockers. We have the best fans in the region and we need your support next week.

Royal/Milton Honored
Julian Royal was named to the top ten for the Class of 2011 by Athlon Magazine.   Milton HS is the only school in Georgia to be named a National School of Excellence for 2008. 

In other news: Coaches from Georegtown, Va. Tech, UGA, Ga. Tech, Ga. State, and South Carolina have watched our players workout at Milton.  UNC visits Monday, September 22nd..

Mandatory Meeting - Wed, August 27th
Meeting for boys basketball this Wednesday, Aug. 27th, right after school in Coach Boyd’s trailer 113.  It is mandatory!

Verizon Concession Opportunity
Once again Milton Basketball has an opportunity to work the concessions at the John Mayer Concert on  Aug 29th... This concert is already sold out, totaling 12,000 people!  We will need approx 25 more volunteers for this date.... If you are available please respond to Ali Littley or Veronica Brundage. Thank you to everyone who helped out at the last two concerts and supported the Milton Basketball program. 

Coach Dankosky Now At Milton HS
Coach Dankosky has been added as a teacher to Milton High School.  We’re glad to have him on board! 

VMI Offers Scholarship to Erik Schuelke
Erik Schuelke, a senior at Milton, has been offered a scholarship by VMI, a D-I school that has lead the nation in scoring the last two years.  This should be the first of many for Erik, who was the second leading scorer last year behind Julian Royal. Hard work always pays off. 

Evan Nolte Update
Evan Nolte, a rising 6'5" freshman from Milton, lead his 14 U Southern Stars AAU team to a 3-0 pool play record at the 14 U AAU national championship tournament in Orlando, Fla.  Evan was recently added to UGA's player prospect data base by head coach Dennis Felton.

NEW! Milton player gets national recognition:  Evan Nolte, a freshman was named the 25th best player on the hoopscoop report in the 14 U category.

Milton Athletics Red and Silver Ball, Sept 6th, 2008
This will be the fourth year of the RED and SILVER BALL and each sport has the potential to raise huge money for their program.

The Ball will take place Saturday, Sept. 6th, at the Alpharetta Marriott, from 6 until midnight. This event is for Adults only. There will be a Silent and Live Auction, cash bar, great food, and Music entertainment.

Here is how is works: Our Basketball program is responsible for $2000.00 to help cover the cost of the event. After that, all money brought in by basketball players and families will go directy to our basketball program. This includes Money from: Tickets, donated auction items, and sponsor dontions. All donations are tax deductable. Sponsor and Donation forms will be sent to you by e-mail.

We have even offered Basketball incentives for basketball parents to participate. Please check the forms that your players have brought home, or the e-mail that you will receive shortly from the Program.

Start now to find auction items. These can be anything of value from jewelry, gift certificates, appliances, vacation home rental for a week, Braves or Hawks tickets, even a puppy! Anything you think people will want to bid on and earn our program the donation.

Fundraiser: Concessions at the New Verizon Amphitheater
On Aug. 8th, Milton Basketball has the chance once again, to raise money for our program. We need 15 parents and 15 players to work the concessions at the New Verizon Amphitheater.

AAU Updates
July 24, 2008
The Southern Kings 15U AAU team lead by six Milton players have won their first two games at the Main Event in Vegas by an average of 22 points.

In other news, Alex Walton will be playing in the Vegas tournament with his Celtics team.  Eric White, Erik Shuelke, and T J Williams are all going to Orlando for nationals. 

Pizza Party For Boys Summer Players
Coach Boyd, his wife and daughter are going to host a beginning of the year pizza party for the boys basketball players during the summer at 6:00pm on Aug 16th at his new "ranch."

South Kings Headed to Main Event in Las Vegas
The Southern Kings 15 U AAU team lead by Julian Royal, Shannon Scott, Dai Jon Parker, Evan Nolte, Valiant Hed, and Jordan Lloyd are heading to a very prestigious Main Event Las Vegas Tournament on Tuesday, July 22nd to participate in one of the most anticipated national basketball tournaments of the year.

Julian Royal Nationally-Ranked
Julian Royal has been selected as one of the top 15 players nationally in the class of 2011 by Scout.com rankings.  He is also the #3 rated power forward at his position nationally. 

2008-09 Varsity Boys Schedule Posted
This is an incredible schedule highlighted with home games against GAC, Riverdale, Huntsville Lee, Centennial, Wheeler, Walton, Roswell, Alpharetta, Kell, and Campbell  (and a scrimmage against Sequoyah). Click here to view schedule.

Colleges Coaches To Visit Milton This Fall
Monday, July 14
Serveral NCAA college coaches have given early committments to visit Milton High School in the fall. The list of coaches include Dennis Felton, the head coach of UGA, Rick Barnes of Texas, and Coach Donovan of Florida.

In other news, Eric Shuelke has been playing well on the AAU circuit and garnering college interest.  Eric White recently played in front of 50 college coaches at an AAU tournament and had interest from Jacksonville U and Clemson.  Chase Coleman has also been playing well in AAU competition in July.

Milton Eagles Summer Hoops Update
Tuesday, July 8
Both Shannon Scott and Julian Royal represent half of the sophomores invited to the NBA Top 100 Camp, a very prestigious camp.  Read the entire article - click here.

Royal and Scott also attended UGA's Elite Individual Camp and will participate in U. of Florida's camp in the beginning of August.

In other recruiting news, Tennessee Martin, a D-I school in the Ohio Valley Conference, has contacted Brody Littley, Eric White, and T J Williams. 

On June 27th and 28th the boys varsity went 6-1 at the GSU summer camp beating some very good teams including South Gwinnett and Westlake. We are excited about the new year.

2008 MILTON TIPOFF CLUB GOLF OUTING - MONDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2008
Wednesday, April 16
Milton Tipoff Club is hosting a Golf Outing on Monday, June 9th, 2008. This event will take place at Alpharetta Country Club, located at 1785 Dinsmore Road, Milton GA 30004. There will be a Shotgun Start at 10:00 sharp. This is a four-Man Lauderdale and a box lunch will be provided. Hors doeuvres and Awards will be announced at 3:00. The cost is $100.00 Single/$400.00 foursome (Tax deductible) 4-Man Team AND Hole Sponsorship:$500.00 Hole Sponsorship only:$150.00.

Eagles Stung By Jackets

The Eagles season ended Tuesday night as they fell to the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets 74 - 47.  The Eagle fans want to thank all of the players for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. 


Maples and Ivy commit to play College Basketball next season

Lauren Maples has verbally committed to play at Valdosta State next season, while Candice Ivy has verbally committed to attend Georgia Southern University. Congratulations to both of our talented seniors.


7th Annual Miltons Hoops City Camp Dates Announced

Lady Eagles Pound Pope, Advance To Next Round of Region 6 Tournament and Qualify For AAAAA State Tournament
The Lady Eagles won a nail biter last night over Pope - 66 -59 in overtime. With the win, the Lady Eagles now advance to the semi finals of the Region 6 Tournament. In what has become an annual tradition, The Lady Eagles have also qualified for the AAAAA State Tournament---Congratulations Lady Eagles.

The Eagles trailed by 17 points at one point but staged a tremendous comeback to trail by only 1 in the 4th quarter.   Centennial withstood the rally and held on for a 64 - 57 win.

The Lady Eagles started the game strong and cruised to a 59 - 40 victory over Centennial.  


Eagles Toppled by Titans

The Eagles mounted a furious comeback in the 4th quarter to narrow the Titans lead, but ran out of time and fell to Northview 70 -60.

The Lady Eagles and the Lady Titans from Northview played into overtime before Northview was able to pull ahead for the win 62 -52.
